Get-In Price For Game 3 Of Knicks-Spurs NBA Finals Is Absurd

Whether the Knicks and Spurs reach Game 3 tied 1-1 or with the Knicks leading 2-0, Madison Square Garden is going to be rocking like never before. And for the amount of money people are paying just to get in the door, it's hard to imagine anything else.

Prices on tickets to Game 3 - which President Donald Trump has now confirmed he'll attend - have been absurdly high since before Game 1 and have only gotten higher as the demand vastly outweighs the supply.

ESPN's Dan Wetzel did a search for ticket prices on a reseller website and found that the cheapest ticket available is currently a whopping $8,035. And that's for a distant corner of MSG that's about three floors above the hardwood.

Tickets one level down run a minimum of $13,223, while a seat in the lower bowl goes for $18,210.

If you want to sit courtside, get ready to shell out over $45,000.

Zillow-like Prices

For that kind of money you can make the down payment on a home - a pretty good home in fact. Fans on X were wildly amused by how extreme the prices have gotten for the game.

"Yes, you have to choose between sending your kid to college and attending an NBA Finals game, but at least the Knicks won't tell you what to wear in the arena," The Athletic's Ralph D. Russo remarked.

"That's pure insanity. Even if I had the money I wouldn't drop basically a car for good seats," another user wrote.

"Imagine if the Knicks get blown out and you just paid half a year's salary just to watch from the second deck," wrote a third.

"My recliner is the best view. Concession stand prices much better too."

And those are just the prices for the cheap seats. Last week there were some courtside tickets going for literally hundreds of thousands of dollars. Many fans pointed out that there are actual Zillow listings for nice-looking homes that are way cheaper than that.

Don't ever let anyone try to convince you that Knicks fans aren't some of the most devoted fans of any team in the world. They've waited a generation to see this team in the NBA Finals and most weren't even born the last time they won it all.

The Garden will be packed on Monday.
