Jeremy Lin Joining ESPN for NBA Finals Coverage: Report
The NBA Finals are set to begin Wednesday night with Game 1 between the New York Knicks and the San Antonio Spurs.
Joining ESPN’s coverage of the series will reportedly be former Knicks star and fan favorite Jeremy Lin, who is best known for his unforgettable 2012 breakout that became known as "Linsanity."
Lin is expected to join Scott Van Pelt beginning Wednesday following Game 1 and appears ready for the opportunity after making a trial appearance on NBA Today back in March.
In addition to his Finals coverage duties, Lin will continue contributing to “NBA Today” and is expected to appear on various editions of SportsCenter and ESPN’s digital basketball streams throughout the series.

Lin went undrafted out of Harvard University and wasn’t sure whether his NBA career would amount to anything - or if he would even get the opportunity to see the floor.
That opportunity finally came in 2012 when the Knicks were dealing with several injuries, including one to Carmelo Anthony. Lin seized the moment and never looked back, ultimately playing nine seasons in the NBA for eight different teams while averaging 11.6 points per game over his career.
"I always felt like Knicks fans deserve the best performances. They're so passionate," Lin said via USA Today. "And as cool as it was for me to give good performances only for that stretch of time, I genuinely wish that I was able to do more. I genuinely wish I was able to stay longer, genuinely wish that I could have had a lot more success and done things in the playoffs for the Knicks, but that never came to fruition."
Lin also spoke about the opportunity to join ESPN’s NBA Finals coverage as one of his former teams competes for a championship for the first time since 1999.
"I think after those three days, the reception that we got from the fans, as well as what I felt internally, was definitely beyond what I expected," Lin said. "So that was nice in the sense of, ‘Oh, people really appreciated the breakdown,' but I also felt joy in being back around NBA basketball."
