Caitlin Clark Accused Of 'Entitled Diva' Behavior With Fever
Caitlin Clark and Stephanie White's relationship continues to dominate the women's sports world.
The Indiana Fever dropped to 4-4 on the season this weekend. Indiana was blown out by Portland. Clark was benched by White after racking up a lot of early fouls. She clearly did not look happy about it.
White and Clark were seen getting heated on the bench, as they appeared to be discussing her fouls. Clark seemed to say that she was putting her hands up in legal guarding position, while White was sounding off on her star player in a big way.
Fans have been taking both sides on this one. Some believe that White needs to handle her star player in a better way, while others believe that Clark has been acting in immature fashion.
Former college basketball coach Dan Dakich has accused Clark of "diva" behavior in a scathing rant.
Clark accused of 'diva' behavior
Dakich did not hold back.
"How is this Stephanie White's fault? Told you weeks ago .. Caitlin Clark has become a complete pain in the (expletive) Diva," he wrote.
"Ain't the coaches fault. Its the freaking entitled diva at fault."
Dakich ran down the list of coaching "problems" in Indiana, too.
"Clark has been in indy 3 years. Year 1-Christy Sides was not a "good enough coach" FIRED. Now- Steph White "not good enough" soon fired. Only Time @Fever have been any good is with Clark OUT."
A lot of this is speculative, of course, but Clark is facing growing criticism for her behavior. Former ESPN host Cari Champion sounded off on Clark, too.
"The more we get to catch these glimpses of Caitlin Clark, I'm like, ‘I don't like you. I don't like the way you behave on the court,'" Champion said.
"And the league is positioning you to be its superstar because you are, and with leadership comes certain responsibility. And if you don't want that responsibility, I understand that. But the way that you behave, this entitlement, the way you are talking to your coaches… you enjoy that. So if that's what you enjoy, if you want to be the villain, if you want to be the tough person … then let it be. Because we're coming at you the same way we could come at anyone else. And her fans need to recognize that. Like, she chooses that behavior."
