Brewers' Jacob Misiorowski Produces Historic Month of May

Milwaukee Brewers ace Jacob Misiorowski just keeps turning heads with his dominance on the mound.

On Sunday, Misiorowski topped off his historic month of May by hurling seven more shutout innings against the Houston Astros. He allowed just three hits, struck out eight batters and walked none.

In six starts and 38.1 innings in May, Misiorowski went 5-0 with a 0.23 ERA (one earned run allowed), 0.52 WHIP, 14 hits, 57 strikeouts and just six walks. He also gave up an anemic .109 batting average against him.

As historic as Misiorowski's May was, he might not win the National League Pitcher of the Month award given Philadelphia Phillies ace Cristopher Sanchez did not allow a run in 39 innings (one less start).

Even still, Misiorowski is budding into one of the best starting pitchers in all of baseball. He also helped propel the Brewers into first place in the National League Central division in May.

Misiorowski throws heat as well, averaging 99.8 mph on his four-seam fastball. His fastball velocity consistently touches the low-100s.

On the season, Misiorowski has gone 6-2 with a 1.65 ERA, 0.79 WHIP and 108 strikeouts in 71 innings and 12 starts.

Last year as a rookie, Misiorowski went 5-3 with a 4.36 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 87 strikeouts in 66 innings, 14 starts and 15 appearances. He also made the NL All-Star team.

For his career, the 24-year-old is 11-5 with a 2.96 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and 195 strikeouts in 26 starts and 27 total appearances.

The sky appears to be the limit for Misiorowski who is on the trajectory of being a dominant force in Milwaukee for many years to come. His historic month of May is likely only just the beginning for "the Miz."

Milwaukee holds a 35-21 record and a four-game lead in the NL Central as of Sunday evening.
