Lu Dort Delivers Powerful Statement on His Future in Oklahoma City
Oklahoma City Thunder veteran Lu Dort’s future is up in the air as he enters the 2026 offseason. He just finished the fourth year of his contract with the reigning NBA champions, and has a team option on the table for the 2026-27 season.
The Thunder’s season came to an end with a Game 7 loss to the San Antonio Spurs on Saturday night. And during his exit interview on Sunday, Dort answered multiple questions about his upcoming contract situation.
Dort made it very clear that he’s happy with the Thunder organization and hopes to continue playing for the team for years to come.
"I'm really grateful for all the stuff that [general manager Sam Presti] did for me until this point, and obviously I want to stay here,” Dort said, via team insider Clemente Almanza. “This organization and this city really shaped me as a person and as a player. The [contract] conversation is going to happen."
"There’s nowhere I would go around the city where I don’t get reminded that I’m a Thunder player,” he added. “People are so happy to see me. It's been amazing, and I’m still enjoying it.
"My goal is to be here. Whatever I need to do, I'll get it done.”
