John Harbaugh Was Asked If Jaxson Dart Made Mistake Introducing Trump

New York Giants coach John Harbaugh already has a controversy on his hands this offseason.

A week ago, Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart introduced President Trump at a rally in New York. That decision didn't sit well with Abdul Carter, who called out his teammate on social media.

"Jaxson is one of our leaders. He's the face of our franchise. He not only represents himself in what he does but he represents all of us. And that goes for anybody who wears a Giants uniform. But if he chooses to align himself with a man like President Trump, it's my responsibility based on what I believe and what I stand on to not only show my teammates that I'm against that but to show the world," Carter said, via Pro Football Talk. "And that doesn't mean that we have to spread hate. It doesn't mean that me and Jaxson hate each other or we have beef. I sit next to Jaxson every day. Every team meeting we're close, we talk, you know, we just - as long as we make sure we got the same goal as a team and our goals align, which they do, I feel like that's all that matters."

During his media availability Friday afternoon, Harbaugh was asked if Dart made a mistake introducing Trump at Rockland Community College.

"I don't think it's about that," Harbaugh said. "I don't think it has anything to do with that. It's not a judgment type of a thing. There's nothing to be judged."

Harbaugh then made it known that he's not concerned about this controversy. He believes his players will all be on the same page fairly soon.

"I'm not worried about it. I'm not into all those details about it. It's not something that concerns me," he continued. "What concerns me is our football team being on the same page and confronting and talking about whatever it might be."

Belief in Jaxson Dart.

While at the Giants' facility this Friday, Dart issued a statement about all the offseason drama surrounding him.

"I also understand in this world, politics can be a sensitive matter, a sensitive topic. I also understand that I am the quarterback of the New York Giants, and that involves a lot of responsibility. It's under a limelight, under a microscope, and there's a lot that comes with that, and it's been something that I've embraced," Dart said. "… Most importantly, I can honestly say that I love every single one of my brothers, my teammates on this team regardless of politics, regardless of religious beliefs, regardless of anything that may be different between us. Like, I love them and they know exactly what kind of person that I am, who comes into the facility every day."

Dart was exceptional for the Giants as a rookie, racking up 2,272 passing yards, 487 rushing yards and 24 total touchdowns. He has the tools to be a franchise quarterback.

Can Dart take his game to the next level? We'll find out this fall.
