Packers Star Josh Jacobs Arrested On Five Disturbing Charges
Although the 2026 season is still several months away, the Green Bay Packers received a concerning update involving running back Josh Jacobs.
The Hobart-Lawrence Police Department announced Tuesday night that Jacobs has been arrested and booked into jail on five charges. The NFL is aware of this report and has been in contact with the Packers.
Here are the five charges that Jacobs is facing:
- Battery - domestic abuse
- Criminal damage to property - domestic abuse
- Disorderly conduct - domestic abuse
- Strangulation and suffocation
- Intimidation of a victim
It didn't take long for Jacobs' legal team to deny these concerning allegations.
"Josh vehemently denies the allegations, and this matter is in the early stages of this investigation with important evidence that has not yet been made public," his attorneys said. "We ask for fairness and restraint while the judicial process takes its course."
What does this mean for Green Bay?
The Packers have Jacobs under contract for two more years. His base salary for this season is $10.2 million.
Jacobs, a three-time Pro Bowler, had 929 rushing yards, 282 receiving yards and 14 total touchdowns for the Packers last season. He had over 1,300 rushing yards for Matt LaFleur's offense in 2024.
If Jacobs misses an extended period of time due to a suspension, the Packers will need Chris Brooks, MarShawn Lloyd and Pierre Strong Jr. to step up at running back. Their primary backup from last season, Emmanuel Wilson, signed with the Seattle Seahawks.
