Duke's Cameron Boozer Continues to Excite Ahead of Draft
Duke‘s Cameron Boozer has been one of the most talked-about players in the 2026 NBA draft, and for good reason. He was a superstar during Duke’s season, and he just demands attention on the court.
As the draft approaches, Boozer continues to be mocked as one of the top three players. In a mock draft out on Saturday, May 23, Zach Buckley of Bleacher Report names his projections for the upcoming draft, and he has Boozer going at No. 3 to the Grizzlies.

“His skills, smarts and instincts are just almost never seen in a player this young-let alone this big (6’9″, 250 lbs),” Buckley states. “He’s a smooth post scorer who doubles as a 40 percent shooter from distance and moonlights as a jumbo ball-handler and creator.”
He adds, “And while he’ll be physically challenged by the NBA’s length and quickness, his rapid processing opens up all kinds of problem-solving possibilities.”

Put Boozer next to Zach Edey, and the Grizzlies suddenly have a frontcourt that feels built to wear teams down in a big way. There’s size, strength and skill there, but also a level of toughness that fits the way Memphis has always liked to play.
Boozer’s polished offensive skills alongside Edey’s physical presence could give the Grizzlies a completely new identity as they reshape this roster for the future.
