Spire Motorsports Names Kyle Busch Replacement for Charlotte NASCAR Weekend

This weekend, Kyle Busch will not race in the NASCARCup Series or Craftsman Truck Series at Charlotte Motor Speedway. On Thursday morning, the Busch family released a statement saying that Kyle had been hospitalized for a severe illness.

Spire Motorsports had Kyle Busch lined up to race in the No. 7 truck this weekend. Corey Day, the Hendrick Motorsports development driver in the O'Reilly Auto Parts Series, will take the wheel.

"Kyle Busch is an important piece of Spire Motorsports' NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series family and we wish him all the best in his recovery," Spire said in a team statement. "We are incredibly thankful to have Corey Day step in to drive the No. 7 HendrickCars.com Patriotic Chevrolet for Friday's Truck Series race at Charlotte and look forward to seeing everyone at the track this weekend."
