Women's Tennis Star Aryna Sabalenka Lands Vogue Magazine Cover

Aryna Sabalenka, the No. 1 player in the world, is turning heads off the court this month.

Roughly a year ago, Sabalenka suffered a 7-6, 2-6, 4-6 loss to Coco Gauff in the French Open final. As if losing the championship wasn't bad enough, she faced backlash for not giving Gauff full credit during her post-match media availability.

Fast forward to this May, and Sabalenka is on the cover of Vogue. She addressed last year's fiasco at Roland Garros during her in-depth interview with the iconic fashion magazine.

"When I got to Wimbledon last year, my first press conference was packed like crazy," Sabalenka said. "I was like, ‘Wow, guys, are you expecting more of the French Open?' But then we did the TikTok video. Coco is one of those girls who understands everything. She never gets upset or offended. If you say you're sorry, she's like, ‘Oh, girl, it's okay. You're good.' No one will understand you better than another athlete. I feel like all of us think, Okay, I should win every match. If you're not thinking that way, then what are you doing? When you're in the top five and you're winning Grand Slams, it's not okay to be okay with losing. That's my mentality."

Unsurprisingly, Sabalenka's cover photo for Vogue generated plenty of buzz on Instagram.

"You rock meu amor," her fiancé Georgios Frangulis commented. "Lucky me."

"This is wow babes," actress Eiza Gonzalez wrote.

"ARYNA,You are Elegantly Exhilarating and Charismatically Captivating," one fan said.

"Omggggg yessss!!!!!! Love this!!!!! Congrats!!! You look gorgeous," another fan wrote.

Aryna is hoping to get back on track.

After successfully completing the Sunshine Double, Sabalenka was upset by Hailey Baptiste in the Madrid Open quarterfinals. She was hoping to shake off that loss at the Italian Open, but she was defeated by Sorana Cirstea in a three-set thriller.

"Felt like my body was limiting me from performing on the highest level," Sabalenka said. "She stepped in and played incredible tennis. Didn't really give me much opportunities. ... But I guess we never lose, we only learn, so it's okay."

Sabalenka would love nothing more than to snap out of her recent funk and win her first title at Roland Garros.
