Tiger Woods Spotted For First Time Since Leaving Rehab

After a long trip to Switzerland for some rehab following a DUI arrest, Tiger Woods is back in the States.

According to TMZ, Woods' Gulfstream jet touched down at Palm Beach International Airport on Wednesday afternoon. Photos and video taken from the scene show him "stone-faced, showing no emotion" as he walked off the tarmac alongside his dog.

Per the report, Woods had been enjoying a stay at an "exclusive, and ultra-expensive Swiss rehab facility" since early-April.

Woods and the Law

Woods decided to check himself in for treatment after his March 27 rollover car crash in Florida. He was subsequently arrested for DUI and told the judge in his case that he couldn't private go for rehab help in the United States given his celebrity status.

The judge accepted Woods' argument and permitted him to travel to Europe to undergo rehab.

Unfortunately for Woods, his return to the United States has already featured a pretty notable courtroom defeat for his defense. His lawyers were unable to block prosecutors from accessing his prescription drug records, which might bode poorly for Woods since they'll now know what he might have been taking on the day of his March crash.

Woods faces misdemeanor charges of DUI and refusing to take a urine test after the crash.

If convicted, Woods could face six to 12 months in prison plus a license suspension. And given some of his prior driving incidents, it wouldn't be unreasonable for leniency to get thrown out the window.

As far as his golf career goes, Woods is already set to miss the majors and his position at the 2027 Ryder Cup is looking unclear right now. It's very possible we won't see Woods playing competitive golf for a while.
