WWE Legend Ric Flair Calls Out Luka Doncic After Lakers' Loss vs. Thunder
It's safe to say WWE legend Ric Flair wasn't thrilled about Luka Doncic missing Game 1 between the Los Angeles Lakers and Oklahoma City Thunder.
Doncic has been sidelined since April 2 due to a hamstring strain. That injury kept him off the court for the entire first round of the playoffs, but fortunately for the Lakers they had LeBron James turn back the clock. Although the NBA's all-time leading scorer looked great in Game 1, the Lakers still lost 108-90 to the Thunder.
"We've got to make shots," Lakers coach JJ Redick said during his postgame media availability. "You know, we've got to make shots. Ten-for-30 from 3. Austin goes 3-for-16. I thought Luke [Kennard] passed on some really good looks down early. Then, don't turn the ball over. We had 10 turnovers in the second half."
While the Lakers reflected on things they could've changed in Game 1, Flair went on social media to rip Doncic.
Flair urged Doncic to take a shot of cortisone and get back on the court. He also suggested the Lakers should trade Doncic this offseason.
"Luka @lukadoncic , Please Get In The Game! Take A Shot Of Cortisone And Deal With The Pain," the 16-time WWE champion wrote on social media. "They Are Paying You 50 Million A Year, And You're Not There! WTF! I Hope @JeanieBuss Trades You Next Year. Nobody Wants A Lame Duck On Their Team!"
Will Luka Doncic return for Game 2?
Unfortunately for the Lakers, it doesn't sound like they'll have Doncic at their disposal for Game 2 against the Thunder. According to ESPN's Brian Windhorst, the All-Star isn't close to returning.
"He is not close," Windhorst said on Monday. "There is a whole ramp up that's required from a hamstring, and he has not started that contact ramp up yet. … Do not expect to see Luka in the first few games of this series."
Maybe, just maybe, Doncic will be ready for Game 3 on Saturday. However, that seems a bit too ambitious at this time.
