Raven Johnson Gets Honest About Caitlin Clark at Fever Training Camp
Fans are expecting another successful season from the Indiana Fever, especially with their core players returning for another run at the WNBA Finals.
Caitlin Clark is returning to the court healthy after being out for her team’s postseason push. They’ve recently signed Aliyah Boston, Lexie Hull, and Sophie Cunningham to more lucrative contracts and deals under the league’s new Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
However, there’s also excitement surrounding the team’s first-round draft pick. Indiana added talented South Carolina guard Raven Johnson to the roster to further boost their lineup on the floor, whether she’s playing alongside Kelsey Mitchell, Caitlin Clark, or both.

It’s been a short turnaround for Johnson from playing in the NCAA Tournament’s championship game to participating in training camp with her new Fever teammates. That means getting acclimated to the new style of play, learning new routines, and familiarizing herself with how her new teammates play.
She mentioned that the veteran players have been a major help for her, expressing that Clark, in particular, has been very helpful with her learning how things work there.
"It’s fun. I’m learning from the vets here. They definitely make sure I get the plays. Yesterday they were just throwing plays at me,” she said, adding, “They run a lot of plays.”
“Caitlin Clark, she was helping me during all the hard times … I was like, ‘What do I do here, or like, where should I cut?’ … I asked her probably like a thousand questions yesterday,” Johnson shared with reporters.
The No. 10 pick averaged 9.9 points, 5.1 assists, four rebounds, and 1.5 steals per game this past season. She also shot 48.6 percent from the field and hit 39.8 percent of her three-pointers.
Johnson is one of two significant additions that the Fever made to their roster to provide backup relief for Clark. They also signed veteran guard Tyasha Harris, who has played in the league since 2020 with seasons for the Connecticut Suns and Dallas Wings.
She’s also a former South Carolina player, giving Johnson another vet to lean on as they learn the new system together.
