Bills' Josh Allen Reveals Unusual Request After His Foot Surgery

The Buffalo Bills‘ Josh Allen re-aggravated an injury, resulting in a fractured fifth metatarsal during the NFL season due to a hit by Cleveland Browns defensive star Myles Garrett.

However, due to Allen’s toughness and grit, he continued playing for his team after the Week 16 injury. That included several playoff games, until the Bills’ postseason ended at the hands of the Denver Broncos.

Once their games were officially over, it was time for Allen to go under the knife. The Bills quarterback had a piece of his bone from his right foot removed through a surgery in late January, and has since indicated he’s feeling much better.

Along with that, he revealed the strange request he had following his surgery. Allen wanted something to remember the latest surgery by.

“A little piece of bone just kind of broke off and was floating there. So they just went in, took it out, kind of like a small rock,” Allen said, regarding the procedure.

“Our head trainer, Nate Breske, was there, and apparently, they wrapped it up and threw it away as quickly as they could. And I really wanted it. It may be floating out there, who knows. Black market or something,” he said.

While he didn’t get the keepsake from his surgery, he stated that he “feels really good right now” after having the piece of bone removed, and hasn’t noticed any limitations since. That’s great news as the Bills are entering a fresh new season with the superstar QB still attempting to lead his squad to the Super Bowl.

Allen was extremely emotional when his team lost in the AFC Playoffs, indicating he felt he let his team down due to having four turnovers during the postseason loss.

However, the team has since done things to address their future, including firing head coach Sean McDermott and promoting offensive coordinator Joe Brady to the head coaching position. Along with that, they made a huge trade to bring DJ Moore from the Chicago Bears to Buffalo as a talented receiver for Allen to throw to next season.

The Bills also hold the No. 26 pick in the upcoming first round of the NFL Draft. A recent mock draft via NFL.com listed Auburn edge rusher Keldric Faulk as their potential pick, stating he could work within the new 3-4 defense under new coordinator Jim Leonhard.
