Caitlin Clark Congratulates Boyfriend's Younger Brother On His Commitment

Caitlin Clark might be rooting for the Richmond men's basketball team next season.

There's no question Clark's heart will always belong to the Iowa Hawkeyes. The NCAA's all-time leading scorer averaged 28.4 points and 8.2 assists per game during her incredible college career. With that being said, she was pulling for Butler this past season.

Clark's boyfriend, Connor McCaffery, was a member of Butler's coaching staff this past season. His brother, meanwhile, was part of the school's freshman class.

Jack McCaffery, who was named the 2024-25 Gatorade State Player of the Year in Iowa, had to seek a medical redshirt during his freshman year at Butler. He appeared in nine games this past season, averaging 2.8 points and 1.6 rebounds per game.

McCaffery entered the NCAA transfer portal in mid-March. After taking time to consider all of his options, he announced that he's joining Richmond for the 2026-27 season.

Shortly after McCaffery made this announcement on Instagram, he received this response from Clark: "Lfggg."

Connor McCaffery also left Butler this offseason.

Before Jack even committed to Richmond's basketball team, Connor announced that he was leaving Butler.

"End of an era! Forever grateful to Coach Matta for the opportunity that he gave me," McCaffery wrote. "Learned a lot and worked with great people – excited for what's next."

Prior to accepting a coaching role on Matta's staff, Connor McCaffery was an assistant for the Indiana Pacers.

"I'm really excited. I want to get away and try to learn from someone else, somewhere else," McCaffery said. "I've always been under my dad's shadow and tutelage. Now, learning from someone like coach (Rick) Carlisle … and the assistants they have there, they're all good basketball minds … I'm just going to try to take everything in."

Time will tell if the McCaffery family makes an impact on the hardwood next year. We definitely expect Clark to have a bounce-back season with the Fever.
