Following the loss, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr suggested his time with the team might be over.
"We'll talk about what's next for the Warriors, what the plan is this offseason," Kerr said, via the NBA. "And we will come to a collaborative decision on what's next. I don't know what's going to happen. I still love coaching. But I get it. These jobs all have an expiration date.

“There's a run that happens, and when the run ends, sometimes it's time for new blood and new ideas and all that. And, if that's the case, then I will be just nothing but grateful for the most amazing opportunity any person could have to coach this franchise, in front of our fans in the Bay and to coach Steph Curry, to coach Dray and the whole group."
On an episode of “The Draymond Green Show” on Monday, the host had a tough prediction for the Warriors. He predicted Kerr would not return for the 2026-27 season.
“I hope he’s our coach next season,” Green said. “You want my opinion? I think not. Just because it feels like that. It felt like that was it.”
Kerr took over the Warriors in 2014, his first and only stint as a head coach. He’s 604-353 with Golden State.
Kerr has won three NBA championships with the Warriors, with the last coming in 2022. Golden State has now missed the playoffs in four out of seven seasons.
Key players like Stephen Curry and Green might want Kerr to return, but it could be in the best interest of the organization to go in a new direction. The Warriors have been stale in recent years, and a new head coach could ignite the team for a future run to the NBA Finals.
