Lonzo Ball Takes Public Shot at Fox's Nick Wright Over Brother LaMelo

When it comes to the Ball family, if someone takes a shot at one member of the family, you’re taking a shot at the entire close-knit group.

Fox Sports pundit Nick Wright learned this on a drama-filled Wednesday, following his rant on Charlotte Hornets star LaMelo Ball, which went so viral that his older brother came to his defense on social media.

Yesterday, Ball and the Hornets escaped an overtime thriller against the Miami Heat in the opening game of the playoff play-in tournament. The Hornets were aided in that game by the absence of Heat star Bam Adebayo, who exited the contest early due to an injury he suffered from a tie-up with a sprawling Ball on the floor.

While some gave Ball the benefit of the doubt for incidentally injuring Adebayo, Wright wanted to hear none of it, calling out the Hornets’ point guard for immaturity and labeling him a “clown” on the court with his antics.

Although LaMelo didn’t respond to the backlash, his brother, Lonzo, was quick to unleash a firestorm on the Fox Sports analyst on X.

Wright shot back at the eldest Ball brother on social media, doubling down on his dressing down of LaMelo and his maturity.

“I respect you having your brother’s back,” Wright posted. “Despite the fact that deep down you’ve gotta know everything I said was true. He’s immensely talented, hilariously immature, reckless on and off the court & his own worst enemy.”

Wright didn’t end there, however, as he followed up his initial response with another clap back at Lonzo.

Listen, I think the last time I went scorched earth on a guy was Pat Bev years ago,” Wright continued. “But after LaMelo intentionally injures Bam & plays one of the most erratic elimination games we’ve ever seen, in the same season he’s been a menace on the streets of Charlotte, if calling him a [clown] is too far, I don’t know what to tell you.”

Forget LeBron James vs. Kevin Durant in the first round of the NBA playoffs.

The hottest rivalry in the first round of the postseason is Nick Wright against the entire Ball family.
