NFL Legend Jason Kelce Makes Cowboys Announcement on Tuesday

Jason Kelce became one of the best offensive linemen the NFL has ever seen during his 13-year career with the Philadelphia Eagles. From 2011 to 2023, the former Cincinnati Bearcats center earned seven Pro Bowl nods and six first-team All-Pro honors, helping the Eagles win Super Bowl LII against Tom Brady and the New England Patriots as well.

But after retiring from the NFL in 2024, Kelce has stayed close to football, joining ESPN as an analyst on "Monday Night Countdown." But he has done much more with the network as well, including work as an on-course reporter for The Master's over this past weekend. Kelce also hosted his own late-night show called "They Call It Late Night with Jason Kelce."

But at the tail end of his playing career, Kelce also began his podcasting career, starting a show with his brother, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, called "New Heights." The brothers release episodes weekly and often bring in celebrity guests, most recently inviting CBS Sports play-by-play announcer Jim Nantz and golf legend John Daly.

And on Tuesday, the Kelce brothers announced their latest guest for the next episode of "New Heights," revealing that former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Troy Aikman will be on the show. One could make an argument that Aikman is the best quarterback in Cowboys history, helping the team win three Super Bowls in the 1990s, along with making six Pro Bowl appearances. He was also inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2006.

"Our guest today is a 6-foot-4 quarterback from UCLA," Jason Kelce said. "He was the No. 1 pick in the 1989 draft. He's a six-time Pro Bowler, three-time Super Bowl champion, 1993 Super Bowl MVP. And a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame. He's also the 1983 Oklahoma high school state typing champion. I did not know that. He's been in the broadcast booth for 25 years. He's also my coworker on 'Monday Night Football.' Please, 92 percenters, welcome to the show, Mr. Troy Aikman."

While Aikman may have made a name for himself with the Cowboys, Jason Kelce neglected to mention the Eagles' NFC East rival in the announcement, leaving out a notable part of his legacy.
