Kentucky Linked to All-Conference Forward in College Basketball Transfer Portal

In his second season with the Kentucky Wildcats, Mark Pope led his squad to yet another NCAA Tournament. However, their run at a potential national championship didn't last too long. Kentucky suffered a second-round loss to the Iowa State Cyclones.

Now, into the offseason, the team continues to face losses. The Wildcats have had seven players depart since the transfer portal officially opened on April 7. They've done little to replenish the talent, receiving zero transfer commitments so far. However, after having the No. 2-ranked class last year with six additions, Pope has shown the ability to make a big splash.

He and his staff continue to work behind the scenes. On3's senior national recruiting analyst, Jamie Shaw, reports that Kentucky is one team making a push for Yale Bulldogs forward Isaac Celiscar.

"This past weekend, I am told that Celiscar conducted in-home visits with DePaul, Texas A&M, Kentucky, and Minnesota," Shaw wrote. "I am told to look for him to set up campus visits soon. Kentucky, Texas A&M, and Minnesota are currently the schools I continue to hear the most about with the Yale transfer."

Celiscar just wrapped up his second season with the Bulldogs after committing to them as a member of the 2024 recruiting class. He started 31 games, averaging 13.2 points, 6.3 rebounds and 3.2 assists, all of which were career highs.

Along with shooting 57.3% from the field and 40.7% from beyond the three-point line, he made a big impact last season. Celiscar's performance on the court led him to earn All-IVY Second Team honors.

On3 Industry Rankings place him as the No. 114 player to hit the transfer portal this offseason. With two more years of eligibility, he continues to weigh his options. Kentucky hopes to come out on top to potentially make Celiscar its first portal addition of the offseason.
