Britt McHenry Appears To React To The Dianna Russini Controversy

Britt McHenry, a former ESPN and Washington, D.C. based sports reporter, has not-so-subtly reacted to the Dianna Russini situation.

Russini, who previously worked in Washington, D.C. prior to her arrival at ESPN and later The Athletic, is embroiled in controversy. Page Six published photos of the NFL insider fraternizing with Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel. Russini and Vrabel, who are both married, were photographed holding hands, sitting by the pool in swimsuits and even enjoying some hot tub time. Russini and Vrabel deny the insinuation regarding the photos, claiming they were there with friends.

The Athletic, which is owned by the New York Times, is now investigating Russini. She will not be reporting until further notice.

McHenry, who worked alongside Russini in Washington, D.C. for many years, appears to be enjoying the drama.

McHenry, who has taken a step back from the public eye in recent years, posted a not-so-subtle tweet about the Russini situation on Tuesday.

"Me the last week on X," she wrote, sharing a karma GIF from Taylor Swift.

Russini and McHenry both covered the Washington Commanders during their time in D.C. It seems like there might be some history between the two.

The Athletic's investigation into Russini is ongoing

The New York Times' Katie Robertson confirmed that an investigation is taking place.

"The Athletic is investigating the conduct of a senior N.F.L. reporter, Dianna Russini, after the publication of photographs that showed her with Mike Vrabel, the head coach for the New England Patriots, according to a person familiar with the inquiry," she reported.

"According to the person familiar with The Athletic's investigation, the nature of Ms. Russini's relationship with Mr. Vrabel and her coverage are being reviewed and she will not be reporting while the investigation is underway."

Russini has not publicly commented on the scandal since her initial denial.
