Tyler “Snoop” Huntley returns as Dolphins third quarterback

The Miami Dolphins won’t just be without edge rusher Tyus Bowser for Thursday night’s game against the Green Bay Packers.

The knee injury that progressively got worse for the eight-year veteran got Bowser placed on injured reserve hours before Thursday night’s game against the Packers.

The Dolphins used the roster spot to elevated quarterback Tyler “Snoop” Huntley up from injured reserve, and made him the emergency third quarterback for Thursday night’s game.

Huntley had been on injured reserve since the Indianapolis Colts game because of a shoulder injury he suffered on Oct. 20.

By making him the third quarterback Huntley wasn’t declared active, but he’ll be able to enter the game if something medically happens to Tua Tagovailoa and Skylar Thompson, and both quarterbacks are ruled out for the game.

To compensate for Bowser’s absence the Dolphins have elevated rookie pass rusher Mohamed Kamara, but expect Calais Campbell, Chop Robinson and Quinton Bell to play more snaps at end, and defensive linemen Dashawn Hand and Benito Jones’ snap count will likely increase.

Also active for Thursday night’s game was Terron Armstead, who has been questionable for a couple of weeks because of a knee injury he’s been nursing the past few weeks. Armstead hasn’t practiced in three weeks but continues to grade out as one of the NFL’s better offensive linemen.

Alec Ingold, who is nursing a calf injury, will play his second straight game since coming back from two weeks on the inactive list.

The Dolphins will also be without Kendall Fuller, who will miss his third game because of the concussion he suffered in Miami’s 23-15 win over the Los Angeles Rams. Storm Duck, an undrafted rookie, will likely be the cornerback who replaces Fuller when Miami goes to the nickel package.

Duck has played over Cam Smith, the Dolphins 2023 second-round pick, the past two weeks.
