Does Florida have the most players in Super Bowl 56 or does another state rank higher?

Florida has bragging rights over every other state each year when it comes to producing the most NFL players. The league put out a news release breaking down the top producing states following the opening week of the NFL’s 2021 regular season.

And it showed the Sunshine State on top with 192 players on NFL rosters.

But does that also correlate to Super Bowl 56 active rosters?

It does not. Texas has the most representation on the Cincinnati Bengals and Los Angeles Rams’ rosters for the Big Game. The Lone Star State features 16 players to lead all other states. These are not players simply born in the state, but those who played their high school football in the state.

Florida was tied with California for second place with 12 players each.

The Florida players are as follows: Tyler Higbee (East Lake), Buddy Howell (Coral Gables High), Sony Michel (Plantation American Heritage), Brandon Powell (Deerfield Beach), Darious Williams (St. Johns Creekside), John Wolford (Jacksonville Bishop Kenny), Ricardo Allen (Daytona Beach Mainland), Vernon Hargreaves III (Tampa Wharton), Trey Hendrickson (Apopka), Fred Johnson (Royal Palm Beach), Wyatt Ray (Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas) and Mitchell Wilcox (Tarpon Springs).

Players on injured reserve or other non-active roster designations following the AFC and NFC championship games are not included in the count.

A total of 26 states, plus Washington D.C., represent the active rosters of both Super Bowl 56 teams.
