Inter Miami gets Bryce Duke from LAFC, Miami FC signs former Austin back Aeden Stanley
Inter Miami, seeking to add youth to its roster for 2022, on Tuesday added 20-year-old midfielder Bryce Duke from Los Angeles FC.
He was acquired in exchange for $100,000 in 2022 General Allocation Money (GAM), and potential additional future GAM if performance-based conditions are met. He was designated as a Homegrown Player, which gives the club more roster flexibility.
“Bryce is a young, promising talent we’re happy to acquire to continue developing on and off the pitch. We look forward to seeing him contribute and grow with Inter Miami,” said Chief Soccer Officer and Sporting Director Chris Henderson.
Duke played 26 games and started five for LAFC the past two seasons. In 2021, he also played for USL Championship team Las Vegas Lights on loan, starting 12 games with one goal and three assists.
The Casa Grande, Arizona native is a product of the Real Salt Lake Academy. He then spent 2019 with the Barça Residency Academy U-18/19 in Arizona, where he had five goals in 13 games.
Inter Miami continues to make roster changes as training camp opens Jan. 17. Announcements on the departures of Rodolfo Pizarro, Leandro Gonzalez Pirez and Blaise Matuidi are expected soon. The team will play preseason scrimmages against D.C. United, Columbus Crew, and Montreal Impact, all of which will spend some time training at Inter Miami’s Fort Lauderdale facilities. Miami will also play against the Charleston Battery.
Miami FC signs Aeden Stanley: Miami FC announced Tuesday the addition of free agent left back Aedan Stanley, who spent last season with MLS club Austin FC. Stanley played two seasons at Duke and was the No. 21 pick in the 2021 MLS draft. He played nine games and started twice for Austin and also played for the U.S. Under-18 national team.
“Aeden is an exciting young left back who I know well, and I believe has a bright future ahead of him,” said coach Anthony Pulis. “He has a lovely left foot, a great tactical understanding of the game and more importantly a very humble, hardworking young man who is highly motivated to do well. I look forward to welcoming another talented young prospect into our Miami FC family.”
