South Florida native Jaiden Francois is going to play college football in the Sunshine State after all.

Originally signed with Nebraska, a choice he made in December, Francois early enrolled at the school before leaving the program without ever practicing for the Cornhuskers.

The global COVID-19 pandemic put a halt to spring football plans, and Francois decided to transfer from the school in July.

On Friday, he announced via social media that he was transferring to UCF, where Nebraska head coach Scott Frost previously coached.

According to 247 Sports, Francois “has already enrolled at UCF.”

Francois, a safety, played at South Dade and was rated the 28th-best safety in the 2020 recruiting class, according to the 247 Sports’ composite rankings.

Before December’s signing day, Francois took an official visit to the University of Miami, where he previously had decommitted from. On signing day, the Herald reported Francois had only a UM hat in front of him before unveiling a hidden Nebraska shirt underneath a button-down shirt for his college choice.

Now he’s back in Florida, but with the UCF Knights.
