Tom Brady escapes discipline after entering wrong home while trying to meet with coach

UPDATE: The NFL concluded that Tom Brady’s visit did not violate offseason work rules, according to NFL Network reporter Tom Pelissero. “It was a brief personal visit and Tom picked up a playbook,” NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy told Pelissero Tuesday.

Tom Brady hasn’t even lived in Tampa a full month and he already may have a fine headed his way.

Teams want the six-time Super Bowl winner to be disciplined for his interactions with Tampa Bay’s staff, according to CBS Sports’ Jason La Canfora.

This insight comes one day after TMZ Sports reported Brady walked into the wrong house April 7 while going to pick up some materials from offensive coordinator Byron Leftwich.

“I literally was just sitting here and I watch this tall guy just walk into my house,” David Kramer, Leftwich’s next-door neighbor, told TMZ. “He didn’t even look at me. He just like dropped his duffel bags down on the floor and just kind of like looked up at me and I’ll never forget the look on his face. He just goes, ‘Am I in the wrong house?’ ”

While the Bucs insist that the encounter didn’t last long, it’s worth noting coaches have been barred from initiating contact and holding any type of “club supervised” meetings with players since April 6, according to ESPN’s Brooke Pryor. Whether this instance falls into either category is unclear.

Petty crime, as crazy as it sounds, could be considered the theme of Brady’s week.

Tampa Mayor Jane Castor recounted a story Monday of a worker who recently kicked the Buccaneers quarterback out of a park that was closed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Even Brady couldn’t help but laugh at his recent mishaps.

Although some think the NFL might cancel their upcoming season, Brady appears to be training as if Week 1 starts tomorrow. That level of dedication should be a welcomed sight for Bucs fans considering the team’s last playoff win came nearly two decades ago.
