New Bucs QB Tom Brady to rent Tampa Bay area mansion from Marlins owner Derek Jeter
Tom Brady was spotted in the Tampa Bay area this week.
According to the Tampa Bay Times, Brady, who signed as a free agent to become the Bucs new quarterback after winning six Super Bowls in 20 years with the New England Patriots, is residing in the Davis Islands mansion built by New York Yankees legend Derek Jeter, who was voted into baseball’s Hall of Fame earlier this year.
Tampa Bay area radio host JP Peterson was the first to report.
Jeter is an owner of the Miami Marlins.
Brady is renting the mansion from Jeter, Peterson reported.
A future Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback, the 42-year-old Brady signed a two-year contract with the Buccaneers. Brady posted a photo of him signing with the Bucs in an Instagram post on March 20.
Brady’s two-year deal includes a $15 million guaranteed salary per year, NFL.com reported.
According to Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times, “the mansion #GoBucs QB Tom Brady will live in is a 30K square-foot, seven bedroom, nine bathroom waterfront home that wraps around a pool with two boat lifts and entertainment room and billiard room.”
Brady threw for 4,057 yards, with a 60.8 completion percentage, and 24 touchdowns against eight interceptions last season. Brady’s completion percentage in 2019 was his lowest since the 2013 season and ties for his third-lowest since he became an NFL starter for the Patriots in 2001.
