Shaquille O’Neal brought joy to an online Georgia first-grade class amid coronavirus fear

A first-grade class in Georgia received a big surprise this week, despite the need to quarantine with online classes because of the COVID-19 disease caused by the novel coronavirus that’s caused a global pandemic.

NBA legend and former Miami Heat star Shaquille O’Neal gave first-graders at East Lake Elementary in McDonough, Georgia, a thrill by joining in on their class that was conducted over FaceTime, TMZ reported.

O’Neal, who played for several NBA teams — including the Los Angeles Lakers and Orlando Magic — is a family friend of a student in the class, according to TMZ.

On the call, Shaq shocked all, including the teacher, before saying hi to each student. The school is located about 30 miles southeast of Atlanta.
