Tampa Bay’s receiving core is already stacked. Tom Brady, however, wants 1 more star.
It took only one game for the Tom Brady-Antonio Brown connection to bear fruit.
And if Brady gets his wish, Hard Rock Stadium won’t be the last time they share the field.
Many teams believe the future Hall of Famer wants AB to tag along wherever he went, according to NFL.com’s Tom Pelissero.
ESPN’s Dan Graziano later substantiated this report on Get Up, saying that it was “something to look out for in the future.”
“According to people close to Antonio Brown, [Brady and AB] have discussed the possibility of teaming up again wherever Brady landed,” Graziano said.
Brady, of course, is expected to sign with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers yet Brown’s myriad of legal issues could prevent him from suiting up for quite some time. It would appear that the six-time Super Bowl winning quarterback would be comfortable waiting for Brown seeing as the two had at least one sleepover in September.
Adding Brown to a receiving core that already includes Mike Evans and Chris Godwin would be unfair. Godwin had a breakout 2019, earning All-Pro honors for the first time in his career.
Evans, on the other hand, is one of two receivers to post 1,000 or more receiving yards in each of his first six seasons. Off-the-field troubles aside, Brown can still be a top five receiver when locked in: he snagged four balls for 56 yards and a touchdown in his only game as a New England Patriot.
Although he’s came close on two occasions, Brady has never had three receivers with 1,000 yard seasons. Eclipsing that would be easy with Brown, Evans and Godwin. The possibilities are endless — just as long as AB handles his business first.
