Romay leads Miami Springs girls’ soccer to victory with four goals on Senior Night

Jasmine Romay sure knows how to celebrate Senior Night in style.

With her team playing its last home game and honoring its four seniors including her, Romay scored four of her team’s five goals on Wednesday night as the Miami Springs girls’ soccer team shut out Ferguson 5-0 at Stafford Park in Miami Springs.

The Romays kept it in the family as well as younger sister Ashley scored the other goal as the Hawks, ranked No. 3 in the state in Class 4A and No. 22 overall, improved to 12-1.

They each had an assist as well along with Latyfath Ubeda. Jasmine Romay scored three of her four goals in the first half as Springs blew out to a 4-0 lead before coasting in the second half. Goalkeeper Brianna Leon recorded the shutout in front of the net.

“A really exciting night,” Jasmine said. “I’m so happy not only that we got a quality win over a good opponent but to do it on Senior Night in front of my family and friends is something I’ll always cherish.”
