Mike Norvell assembling FSU staff. He just hired this SEC offensive coordinator.
Mike Norvell is hitting the ground running in Tallahassee.
After being introduced as Florida State’s head coach on Sunday, Norvell has started assembling his staff. On Monday, Norvell reportedly hired Auburn offensive coordinator Kenny Dillingham to fill the same role with the Seminoles.
Yahoo Sports reported the news first.
Dillingham was Auburn’s offensive coordinator for one season. He previously was on Norvell’s staff at Memphis. Dillingham also worked under Norvell when Norvell was Arizona State’s offensive coordinator.
Auburn ranked 53rd in total offense this season, one spot ahead of Florida. Memphis ranked No. 10 in the same category.
ESPN reported former Arkansas coach Chad Morris is a leading candidate to replace Dillingham for Auburn coach Gus Malzahn.
The addition of Dillingham marks the second member of Norvell’s staff. Early Monday morning, Norvell stated on the ACC Network show, “Packer and Durham,” that longtime assistant coach Odell Haggins, who was serving as interim coach, was staying.
