UCF’s QB room got a little less crowded, because this player is transferring.
The quarterback room at UCF got a little less crowded on Tuesday.
Quadry Jones, a redshirt freshman who played at Orlando Jones High, announced on Twitter he’s entering the transfer portal.
Jones played in three games this season, all in the first half. He last played Sept. 14 against Stanford.
UCF freshman Dillon Gabriel won the starting job, while last year’s backup Darriel Mack Jr. sustained a broken ankle in July and Notre Dame graduate transfer Brandon Wimbush was injured during the season.
With Mack and last year’s starter McKenzie Milton, who sustained a gruesome leg injury against USF, potentially returning along with Gabriel, the quarterback pool is deep for the Knights.
Woodward Academy (Atlanta) dual-threat quarterback Michael Wright is a UCF commit for its 2020 recruiting class to give the Knights even more depth at the position moving forward.
