Home construction lags based on job growth, study finds

South Florida is falling short in building homes to keep pace with demand created from new jobs, according to a study from the National Association of Realtors.

The tricounty region needs 118,937 single-family building permits to get construction levels back to their historical average in relation to job growth, the trade group said.
