Max Klaver is the Miami Herald’s economic mobility reporter, a position made possible by more than 15 local contributors in partnership with Journalism Funding Partners. Major supporters include local philanthropist Ken O’Keefe and the Green Family Foundation Trust. The Miami Herald retains editorial control.

A Philadelphia native, Klaver comes to Miami after a two-year stint in Buenos Aires, where he covered Argentina’s cost-of-living crisis, inflation and the 2023 general election for the Buenos Aires Herald, the Economist and the Christian Science Monitor, among others.
