Starting and growing a business is a transformative journey.

Your passion and drive have been there from the start, and every step forward is a testament to your hard work. You’ll need to forge meaningful connections, unlock the capital to expand, and continually reconnect with the goals that inspired you to become an entrepreneur in the first place. Finding the right resources and support along the way is key.

Fortunately, entrepreneurs in the Miami small business community have access to Chase’s Coaching for Impact program, which provides small business owners with a partner in their journey.

This resource, available to small businesses, pairs business owners with Certified Small Business Consultants who build strategies and provide coaching tailored to the business’s goals.

“Even if you went to school for entrepreneurship, the entrepreneurial journey is really one of a lot of trial and error. Very few times do entrepreneurs have others that they can really lean into,” said Guillermo Diaz, Senior Business Consultant for Coaching for Impact. “Seeing that process and helping them really add perspective to their areas of specialty is extremely rewarding. We humanize this journey for them.”

Customizing Support for Small Business Owners in Miami

Entrepreneurs are paired with one of the program’s four Senior Business Consultants, a team that covers South Florida and serves business owners in English, Spanish, Portuguese, Creole, and French.

These Senior Business Consultants, including Diaz, then take the time to build a thorough understanding of the business owner’s past, present, and future ambitions, enabling them to create tailored, actionable, goal-oriented plans that address each business’s needs.

“We’re here to support business owners with creating strategies around growth and scale. We work with established businesses in helping them really understand what’s been going on in their companies, helping them move those internal needles and see what’s next,” Diaz said.

While each business owner’s path forward is unique, Senior Business Consultants usually help clients focus on their specific needs in four areas: access to capital, building a team of experts, and understanding and navigating cash flow as well as marketing strategy.

Senior Business Consultants serve as coaches and advisors across these strategy areas, working with a business owner over three to six months to determine what successful next steps may look like and connecting them with Miami small business resources that align with their goals.

“Our success really depends on the goals that a business owner may have for their business,” Diaz said. “For some, it’s maintaining what’s working. For others, it’s diversifying their client base. No matter the goal, it always comes down to reconnecting to purpose, mission, and vision.”

Connecting Entrepreneurs With Resources

Coaching for Impact participants leave the program not only with a customized plan for achieving their business goals, but with the resources to make it happen.

The program hosts workshops — including Navigating Cashflow, Marketing in a Digital World, and Power of Capital — that not only directly tie into its four areas of focus, but connect business owner participants with one another. The trainings create the perfect environment for networking, helping entrepreneurs build meaningful bridges in the Miami small business community.

“We’ve seen a lot of magical things happen when like-minded people happen to be in the same room. They are naturally prone to collaborating, networking, and working together,” Diaz said.

Business owners also have access to short online courses that cover cash flow, borrowing, and credit, along with resources like business templates and financial planning tools.

Overall, the Miami business owners who get the most out of the program are those who are committed to the program and, of course, themselves. The more time and effort owners put into doing the work, the more they’ll get out of the program.
