As a Miami native, born and raised, I am appalled at the misinformation that my city is being fed by corporate media. This year’s presidential election has millions of people sitting on the edge of their seats waiting to see who will rule over them and, unfortunately, the choices leave people asking for more options.
Our choices are a racist xenophobe and a lying war hawk.
The media should be informing us about Jill Stein and Ajamu Baraka of the Green Party. The Green Party only asks for loyalty to ideals and a determination to see them through.
We seem to have forgotten, as citizens of an international city, that we are all neighbors. We all seek life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. What do we do when our leaders and our businesses seek to further their happiness at the expense of those who put them there? We unite when they divide. We speak when we are silenced. And we stand when we we are told to sit.
