Unhealthy merger
The front-page Aug. 29 article “Health exchange signups fall short” didn’t tell the whole story. Aetna and Humana are in a battle with the government over a possible merger. The government denied it, and these two giants are threatening to pull out of exchanges until the merger is allowed.
Figures don’t lie, liars just figure. The financial experts at these giant insurance companies can make it appear as if they are losing money while the CEO and senior officers still are getting multimillion-dollar salary packages.
