Ask the GOP
In Gov. Rick Scott’s continuing appeals to Washington — usually to President Obama — for financial assistance in the fight against Zika, has the governor directly asked the sizable Republican Florida House delegation for help?
Only the House of Representatives can initiate an appropriation for monies to battle Zika.
It seems to me that the governor should have considerable influence with his fellow Republicans and look to them, not the White House, to provide the necessary funds.
It’s time for the GOP to do its part.
