Time for leadership

Letter writer Mario Signorello wrote that Congress’ approval rating is a dismal 11 percent (“Change Congress,” Aug. 9).

So I ask Marco Rubio: We have the Zika virus in Florida, global warming, recent multiple mass-shootings in America, and the Republicans have nominated a lunatic for president. There are three months until the November elections, sufficient time to come out of denial and demonstrate some leadership on at least one of these issues.

Or are you afraid of doing something good on President Obama’s watch? Maybe Floridians, in this Senate race, will revert to the old adage, “Throw the bums out.”
