Helping the seas
I want to thank U.S. Reps. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen and Carlos Curbelo for their July 11 opinion article, “We must overcome the threat of growing acidity in our oceans,” in which they outlined the threat to Florida’s businesses and environment from the increasing acidity in our oceans. I am impressed by Ros-Lehtinen's leadership in introducing the Conserving Our Reefs And Livelihoods (CORAL) Act, which will help tackle this pressing issue.
As a native Floridian and volunteer for Citizens Climate Lobby, I am concerned about the oceans and look for more of our elected officials to follow in the footsteps of Ros-Lehtinen and Curbelo in addressing this issue.
