Polluted waters
Our Florida Department of Environmental ‘Destruction’ is at it again, proposing to destroy rather than protect our water from polluters.
The new guidelines allow more cancer-causing pollutants to be dumped into our drinking water and were approved on Tuesday by the “anti-environmental” governor-appointed Environmental Regulation Commission.
Under the new guidelines acceptable levels of over 24 known carcinogens would be increased. Claims of new, one-of-a-kind science are just a smoke-screen for industry, especially oil and gas, pulp and paper mills, water-treatment plants and even agriculture, to dump their waste into our drinking water.
Our only hope now is for the Federal Environmental Protection Agency to reject them under the Clean Water Act.
