Go see Cirkopolis
I almost did not go to see Cirque Éloize Cirkopolis at the Arsht Center because the Herald review described it as dull as a day at work.
I did go, and it was fantastic. The visual background evoked the gritty noir feeling of the silent movie “Metropolis,” making an interesting contrast to the joyful and incredibly skilled performers. The music was varied, and combined with the performance made the acrobatic moves seem like a surreal ballet instead of a circus.
I found it hard to believe what I was watching was humanly possible. There were a lot of small children in the audience and they were silent and as entranced as the adults. I have never seen anything like it and highly recommend going.
