I liked Cirkopolis
Having attended and thoroughly enjoyed the performance of “Cirkopolis” several evenings ago, I can only assume that Miami Herald critic Howard Cohen saw a different presentation.
Both my companion and I were delighted with the show, as were most all of the other attendees with whom we spoke — both adults and children.
Agreed that one or two numbers were a bit long (i.e. Diabolo) but the 85- minute show was over too quickly.
It was neither “bleak” nor “monotonous” in any way.
Cohen obviously over-intellectualizes and shows an unfair bit of snobbery with his references to “the movies of Fritz Lang.”
This was a very good show for what it is.
I will certainly never be guided by Cohen’s reviews again.
