Leave the beach

I found it amazing that at 6:12 p.m. on Sunday, July 3, the city police began asking people to leave the main beach of Virginia Key, when in the summer the best time to enjoy the beach is between 6 to 8 p.m. when the sun is not as strong as in the afternoon.

If all the beaches in the surrounding areas are closing at sundown, why are the police moving people off of Virginia Key’s main beach, that charges $6 entrance fee, that early?
