Skyline change

Developer support for light rail is putting the cart before the horse.

Why do we even need light rail? It never displaces car traffic, it only increases visitor traffic. As it is we can barely handle the numbers of visitors we get now.

Developers want variances to build 30-story towers in South Beach and offer to do this in exchange for funding the light-rail project.

This will change the skyline and traffic density to the point where we start to look like all the other places that are less desirable to visit. And we will definitely crowd out the working people who reside here full time and help create the balanced, laid-back quality of life that makes us an attractive destination.
