Ryan and the sit-in

Until now, I have had some degree of respect for House Speaker Paul Ryan, but he has fallen into the pits in my estimation. His remarks on CNN that the Congressional Democrats who embarked on a sit-in did it as a publicity stunt are astonishing.

I’m sure the victims and families of the recent massacre at the Pulse nightclub and other similar tragic events — and the law-abiding public — will see these comments as an act of cowardice on the part of Ryan and the Republican leadership. They have failed to provide even basic protection from people who use weapons of mass destruction to maim and kill innocents.

Ryan is beginning to sound like Donald Trump. What happened to his conscience?
