Police need military gear

Police need military-grade weapons and protective gear. Local police are the first responders to domestic terror attacks, and they are increasingly facing urban combat situations.

The recent terror attack in Orlando is an example of the firepower they encounter in a day’s work. An Orlando police officer is alive today because he had military-grade Kevlar protective body armor.

His Kevlar helmet stopped the armor-piercing bullet fired from the shooter’s military-grade machine gun.

As taxpayers and citizens, we have the duty to provide police with the best gear available so they can win the urban combat war and return home to their families each night.

How can our police protect us if we don’t protect them?
