Noisy vehicles on Miami Beach

The noise level, particularly along Collins Avenue and 60th Street is out of control.

I’m referring to the non-enforcement of incessant vehicle noise, whether caused by motorcyclists revving their engines or the increasing number of racing cars, all of them driving over the speed limit. This goes on 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Add the constant horn honking from impatient drivers, and the cacophony is definitely not for the faint of heart.

With property taxes and real-estate values being as high as they are, one would expect a semblance of control from the police force, but that doesn’t seem to exist. How can we resolve this problem, or at best reduce noise by half before we all go deaf?

Carol C. Chevrier,

Miami Beach
