Loss of PGA event

Who would have thought that the PGA, one of our nation’s largest, oldest and most esteemed professional sports organizations, would cave in to greed and politics by moving the fabulous South Florida PGA Doral Open golf championship to Mexico City?

Who in their right mind would want to unnecessarily travel out of the country to attend a uniquely American golf championship when the iconic Doral golf course, Miami and all its winter glories remain a significant draw?

But all we got from the PGA was a phone call to Miami-Dade Mayor Carlos Gimenez on a holiday weekend and a demand for $6 million extra or it’s off to Mexico!
