Gorilla incident

Re the May 30 article Gorilla killed in zoo tragedy: This isn’t about being an animal lover, but about being a parent.

A 4-year-old boy managed to go unnoticed by his mother as he climbed through a fence around the gorilla exhibit, then crawled through bushes and ultimately fell into the moat at the Cincinnati Zoo. A valuable and endangered animal was killed as a result.

The mother should be charged with child neglect and endangerment.
