Re Jim Morin’s May 12 medical error cartoon: While physicians do make lethal mistakes, the major causes of medical deaths are hospital acquired infections, falls, medication errors, and early discharge from the hospital.

As for medical cost, both the annual income of physicians and the percentage of physician payments versus total medical cost have gone down substantially every year since the late 1980’s.

This unfair characterization of physicians engenders an unsubtle growing anger in clinical physicians.

They are burning out, retiring early, disgusted with Obamacare, concerned for their patients and considering unionization.

If you think we have healthcare problems now, just wait until several hundred thousand angry doctors take on our present do-nothing government.
